Joseph Skrobacz Obituary

 Joseph B. Skrobacz, 64, of Ruffsdale, died early Monday morning, March 5, 2018, in the Scottdale Manor and Rehabilitation Center, Scottdale, where he was surrounded by his loving family and friends, in his final days.

 He was born July 6, 1953 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of the late Bernard A. and Rose C. Kuzar Skrobacz Valentovish, Who died January 26, 1962 and August 6, 1999, respectively.

Joe was a devout Catholic and a longtime and faithful member of the Partner Parish of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson.

Joe was employed by United Parcel Service of New Stanton as a Delivery Driver from August 1977 and retiring in 2012 after 35 years service. Previously he was employed as a Tax Assessor for Westmoreland County, with 20 years’ service.

Joe had a passion for golfing and enjoyed playing with his friends in a league at Linden Hall, for a number of years. He also took great pride in his 1963 red, split window, Corvette.  He could be seen driving to a golf match or just cruising with his Corvette, on bright and sunny days.  Joe was also known to listen to a few good Polka’s in his spare time.

He was a member of Everson Polish American Club and the Mt. Pleasant Firemen’s Social Club.

Joe is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

His Loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Karen S. Simpson Skrobacz, whom he married October 6, 1984.

His Two Loving Sisters:

Janet L. Garcher and husband Joseph of Mt. Pleasant

Bernadette M. Niemiec and husband Wayne of Scottdale

His caring Nieces and Nephews:

Brian, Nicole and Damian Garcher

Jeremy and Benjamin Niemiec

And Sara Martin Sciulli and her husband Joe

His Step- Brother:

Edward Valentovish and his wife Carol of Scottdale and family.

His Mother-In-Law: Grace E. Simpson

His Sister-In-Law: Robin and husband Jerry Jessop, both of Apollo

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by:

His Nephew: Jeffrey B. Garcher (April 22, 1986)

His Step- Father: Edward Valentovish (May 20, 2014)

Joe’s family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Wednesday from 2 – 4PM & 6 – 8PM.

Prayers of Transfer will be held Thursday at 9:30AM in the Funeral Home, with his Funeral Mass to follow at 10AM in the Partner Parish of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson, with his Pastor, Rev. Andrew M. Kawecki, Celebrant.

Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Everson.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Joe in a special way may direct Memorials to the American Cancer Society. P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK. 73123, in his memory.

The St Joseph Society will recite the Rosary at 1:45 PM Wednesday

And a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 PM Wednesday, both in the Funeral Home.
