James W. Cauthan Obituary

James “Cross” Cauthan, 40, of Kings Road, Scottdale, died unexpectedly, Monday afternoon, July 29,2019 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, following a suspected Cardiac Event.

He was born June 14, 1979 in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of Donna Picqute Hawkins Tillman of Daytona Beach, Fla. and the late Jerry Cauthan (Jan. 2016)

Cross was a Graduate of Lanphier High School, Illinois, Class of 1998. Cross was also a graduate of the Art Institute of Charleston, SC. where he mastered in Culinary Arts. He was a life member of the NRA and a Social Member of the Scottdale Firemen’s Club.

He was employed as a Chef for the Original Leo’s Pub and Grille, Mt. Pleasant

Cross was proud of his Irish/Scottish heritage, so proud, that he enjoyed wearing his kilt on many special occasions to represent his heritage and hence the nickname “Cross”.

Cross is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him,

His loving and devoted wife of 7 years, Joelle S. Cassady Cauthan, whom he married Oct. 31, 2012,

His Step father:

Marty Bloodworth of Carbondale, Ill.

His Brother:

Jeremy Cauthan of Marion, Ill.

His Mother –In-Law and Father-In-Law:

Marilyn and Jesse Cassady of Scottdale

His Brother-In-Law:

Brian Cassady and wife Dorothy Macaluso, of Scottdale

In honoring Cross’s wishes there will be no Visitation or Funeral Services. The family will hold a private Celebration of Life for Cross.

 The Frank Kapr Funeral Home has been entrusted with Cross’s cremation wishes.
