James Earnesty Obituary

James (Jim) C. Earnesty Sr. 87, former resident of Connellsville, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9th in Charlotte, N.C., surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Scottdale, November 21, 1930, a son of the late Charles and Anna Elizabeth (Suttle) Earnesty.

Jim was a proud US Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War as a Medic, for the 14th Battalion, Combat Engineers, attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class.

He was employed at Anchor Hocking Glass Corp., South Connellsville, with over 36 years service, retiring in 1992.

Jim was a resident of Connellsville for most of his life where he was a member of Immaculate Conception RC Church.  He moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2007 to be near his daughter Deborah (Grieneisen) and son James and became a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, in Charlotte.

Jim, fondly called “Pappy” by most, was a gentle soul that never had a harsh word towards anyone.  He loved going to breakfast with his brother-in-law Bob Martin and special niece Paula.  Jim loved football and enjoyed attending the Connellsville Falcon High School games with his nephew and golfing buddy, Charlie Earnesty.  It was a real highlight for him to watch his son and grandsons play a game he loved so much. We are going to miss his sense of humor and his joyful spirit.  Even though he is physically gone from our lives, his memory will be with us forever!

Jim is survived by his loving children
