George Tartal Obituary

GEORGE W. TARTAL, of West Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale and long time businessman, died early Saturday morning, December 17, 2005 in Frick Hospital, Excella Health, Mt. Pleasant at the age of 89 years. He was born March 30, 1916 in Mt. Pleasant a son of the late Matthew Michael and Anna Ponzurik Tartal. George was a faithful and life long member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mt. Pleasant until his illness. He was the owner and operator of Tartals Restaurant, Scottdale from 1959 to the present. George was known for his Western Attire and the collector of many cowboy hats and boots. He was a guest numerous times on television program "Club Dance" originating in Nashville Tennessee, where he had established a long going friendship with the regular guests and dancers. He was a former Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America in East Huntingdon Township. George leaves to cherish his memories his loving Daughter and Son: Mary Ann Kozbelt and her husband John of Inverness, Florida George M. Tartal and his wife Jocelyn of Forrest Hills, PA Cherie Henninger and husband Pete of Lampassas, Texas His Five Grandchildren: Laurie Kozbelt of Inverness, Florida Kristin Kozbelt of Pittsburgh Dr. Aaron Kozbelt and his wife Rosalie of New York City, Stuart Tartal of Forrest Hills Leah Tartal of Forrest Hills His Sisters and Brother: Emma Levey of Detroit Michigan Irene Gonda of Detroit Michigan William Tartal of Mt. Pleasant His Sister-In-Law: Ann Tartal of Everson In addition to his parents he was predeceased by: Son: Paul Tartal in 1970 His Brothers Michael, Albert, Paul, Joe, John, Andrew, Frank and Edward Tartal His Sisters Mary McCullough, Ann Dunn, Elizabeth Tartal. George's family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 West Pittsburgh, Street, Scottdale, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM A Blessing Service will be held in the Funeral Home Tuesday at 9:15 AM followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mt. Pleasant with the Rev Msgr. Michael Matusak as celebrant. A parish wake service will be held Monday at 3 PM in the Funeral Home
