Edward D. Lancaster, 71 of Scottdale, formerly of Murrysville, died peacefully, early Tuesday morning, February 20, 2018 in the comfort of his home, surrounded in love, with his family by his side.
He was born October 25, 1946 in Braddock, Pa. the son of the late Corbin and Helen Urban Lancaster.
Ed was a spiritually minded individual, a devout Catholic, who enjoyed practicing his faith daily. He was a former member of St. Mary’s R. C. Church, Export, where he served as Eucharistic Minister.
He was a Graduate of Norland High School, Florida. Ed and his late Father, Corbin Lancaster, owned and operated, Dallas Corporation, a general contracting company, in Florida, from 1973 – 1987 at which time Ed then moved to Murrysville, Pennsylvania. He was a self employed contractor and builder for 53 years. He also enjoyed working for 84 Lumber, as a commercial estimator and contractor for sales.
Not only was Ed a general contractor, but he was also a builder. Every home he lived in, he personally built for his family.
Ed was also a contractor with American Church Builders, where he was responsible for building churches throughout the Northeast. He was presently working with Salem Millwork of Delmont.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed traveling with his wife and family to the Thoroughbred Races.
Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother to his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him..
Ed is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
His loving and devoted wife of 45 years,Theresa Gerepka Lancaster, whom he married April 28, 1973.

Ed’s family will greet friends Friday, February 23, 2018 from 1PM – 4PM & 6PM – 8PM in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale.
Prayers of Transfer will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 9:30AM in the Funeral Home with his Funeral Mass to follow at 10AM in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale, with the Rev.Robert Lubic, as Celebrant.
The Partner Parishes of Connellsville will conduct a parish vigil, Friday at 7:30 PM. in the Funeral Home
