Duane Molnar Obituary

 

Duane S. Molnar, 64 of Scottdale, passed away peacefully, Monday afternoon, January 7, 2019 in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg.

He was born August 17, 1954 in Steubenville, Ohio the son of the late Dennis and Arlene Kayser Molnar.

Duane was Graduate of Brooke County High School. He was an Undergraduate at West Virginia University and obtained a Master’s Degree in English at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was a Professor of English and Effective Speech at Westmoreland County Community College for 35 years and was a member of various organizations and clubs within the college.

Duane was an avid friend of nature, he took great joy feeding the animals and planting trees. Duane was his wife’s number one Volunteer for over 20 years of wildlife rehabilitation. He had a deep appreciation for the beauty of all hardwoods and even incorporated them into his home.

He was an over the top West Virginia University Sports Fan.  Shortly after his diagnosis, Duane wrote  a textbook for Effective Speech and it was published in August 2018.

Duane is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him,

Douglas Molnar and wife Kris of Wheeling, W.V.

Ardelle Molnar of Evans, GA.

A Number of Nieces and Nephews

His Best Friends:

Sam and Kathleen Hindman of Scottdale

His Mother-In-Law:

Mary Kay Long of Greensburg

His Sister-In-Law:

Melissa Long of N.C.

His Dachshunds: Redmond and The Gibbs and a host of other pets at home.

In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by:

Brother: Darwin Molnar (2017)

Father-In-law: Gilbert Long (March 2018)

A Gathering of Friends will be held in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale Saturday from 1- 3PM and 5 – 7PM.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday at 11AM in the Funeral Home, with Pastor Margie Carr, Officiating.

A Luncheon will be held at Carson’s Catering immediately following the Memorial Service for those who are attending.

PLEASE NO FLOWERS, The family strongly suggests that Memorials be made to Wildbird Recovery, 120 Forsythe Rd. Valencia, PA. 16059.

Due to circumstances, the Funeral Home doors will be locked between hours.
