Doris Jean (Weaver) Cunnard

September 28, 1930 ~ January 7, 2018 (age 87)

Doris J. Weaver Cunnard, 87 of, Mt. Pleasant, and former longtime resident of Scottdale, unexpectedly went home to be with her Lord, Sunday evening, January 7, 2018, at the home of her Daughter, Vicki Cunnard.
She was born September 28, 1930 in Confluence, the daughter of the late Arthur Wade and Sarah Hazel Grove Weaver.
Doris was a faithful member of Alverton United Methodist Church and a former longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Scottdale, where she was a member of the Klingerman Class, coordinated and prepared repast meals for deceased church member’s families.
She was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School Class of 1948 and Franklin Business Schooll. She was an employee of West Penn Power Company, Connellsville, holding the position as Secretary for a number of years.
She then began working as a bank teller for Scottdale Bank and Trust and then became an Administrative Secretary to the President, until her retirement following 24 years service.
She was the lone cook for the Kiwanis Club and the Rotary Club both of Scottdale. Doris loved to cook and bake for the community, including pies, Christmas cookies and wedding cookies. She enjoyed babies and babysitting, and was proud to be called “MiMa”.
For many years she volunteered at the front desk, at Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed working the fourth ward polls for many years and was a member of the Pennsylvania Notaries Association.
Doris was a loving mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother to her family as well as a friend to many in the Scottdale Community.
Doris is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her,

Her Great Grandchildren:

Billy, Bryce, Seth, Megan, Sarah, Kelsey, Shane, Madi and Levi.
And her dear friend, Melissa Kiefer who gave her care and compassion to the very end.
In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by:
Her daughter, Penny S. Heinbaugh (12-14-1998)
Her sister, Marjorie Shivley (Sept 2013)
And her Children’s Father, John J. “Red” Cunnard, who died March 23, 1991
Doris’ family appreciates Excela Health Hospice, especially Deri Ann and Stephanie for their exemplary Care and Compassion shown towards their Mother and her family.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Friday January 12th, from 10AM – 1PM at which time her Memorial Service will begin with her Pastor Tom Shirer, Officiating.

Inurnment will be in Greenridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
