Bernard Dalansky Obituary

Bernard J. “Ben” Dalansky, 88, of Scottdale, passed away peacefully, Friday afternoon, December 22, 2017, following a brief illness, in Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh while being comforted by his loving family.  

Ben was born in Mt. Pleasant, March 22, 1929, a son of the late Martin and Helen Bahurka Dalansky.

He was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School, Class of 1947.
He was a devout Catholic and member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale where he was a member of the former Holy Name Society.

Ben was a Veteran of the Armed Forces, serving with the U.S. Army, Co B 125th A.O.M.B., in Korea from 1951 to 1953 during the War, and attained the rank of Corporal.

He was a retired Machinist Tool and Die Maker, with Westinghouse, of Pittsburgh and previously, was employed with R.E.  Uptegraff Manufacturing Co., Scottdale, as a Machinist, with a total of 40 years service.

Ben was a member of the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post #446 for over 60 years.

He enjoyed boating, camping, watching baseball and football on television, and spending quality time with his family.  

He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather to his family

Ben’s life will forever be cherished in the lives of his family;

His loving wife of 62 years, Juliana Kiliany Dalansky, whom he married October 15, 1955

In addition to his parents, Ben is preceded in death by his Son, Brian
And his brothers and sisters

Ben’s Family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Tuesday, December 26, from 1 – 4PM & 6 – 8PM.

Prayers of Transfer will be held Wednesday at 10 AM in the Funeral Home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale, with his Pastor, Rev Andrew Kawecki, Celebrant and Rev Richard Kosisco, Pastor of St Pius X R.C. Church, Mt. Pleasant, Co-Celebrant.

The St. Joseph Society will recite the Rosary, Tuesday, at 12:45 PM in the Funeral Home

A Parish Wake Service will be held Tuesday at 7:45 PM in the Funeral Home.

Committal Service and Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, with full Military Honors provided by the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post, Honor Guard.
