Alan E. Gainey, 70 of Greensburg, formerly of Scottdale, Upper Tyrone Township, died early Thursday morning, December 30, 2010 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.
He was born October 11, 1940 in Upper Tyrone Twp, the youngest son of Monroe and Mattie Evans Gainey.
He attended Morning Start Baptist Church, Scottdale, and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve.
Alan worked in the Maintance Department of Pontiac Motor Division, Michigan for a number of years.
Alan leaves his memories to be cherished by his loving and devoted Nieces and Nephews

Alan's family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 West Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale, Sunday from 4 PM to 8 pm where his Funeral Service will be held Monday at 10 AM with the Rev Jeffery Welsh, Pastor of Trinity Reformed United Church Of Christ, Scottdale, Officiating, followed by Committal Service and Interment in the Scottdale Cemetery with full Military Honors accorded at the gravesite by the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post #446 Honor Guard.
