Thomas J. "Tom" Tamblyn, aged 67, of Connellsville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on February 13, 2024, in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania. Born on October 13, 1956, to Betty E. Bowman Tamblyn and the late Thomas Tamblyn. A proud graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Class of 1974, Tom carried the lessons learned and friendships made throughout his life. He was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. An avid outdoorsman, Tom could often be found fishing or hunting. He had a special fondness for picking berries, a pastime that reflected his appreciation for the bounty of the land. His love for the Pittsburgh Steelers was more than just a hobby. Tom's sense of humor was a source of light and laughter for those who knew him. He could effortlessly bring a smile to anyone's face, and his jokes and stories will be fondly remembered and retold. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his family. Tom is survived by his adoring mother, Betty E. Bowman Tamblyn of Scottdale; his children, Jonathan E. Basinger and wife Erica of West Leisenring, and Jeremy M. Tamblyn of Mt. Pleasant. He was the cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Tom is also survived by his siblings, Debbie L. Tamblyn of Scottdale, Kevin J. Tamblyn and wife Rae Ellen of Latrobe, Lea A. Queer and husband Thomas of Mt. Pleasant, and Betty E. Eutsey and husband Frank of Indiana, Pa. Each of them carries forward a piece of Tom's spirit in their own lives. Preceding him in death was his father, Thomas Tamblyn. As we bid farewell to Thomas J. "Tom" Tamblyn, we celebrate a life well-lived and well-loved. He was a pillar of strength for his family, a loyal friend, and a man who lived his values every day. Though he has left this earthly realm, his spirit continues to inspire and influence all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Tom's memory will live on, not only in the stories that will be told but in the actions of kindness, the shared moments of laughter.
