Rose Polakowski Obituary

Rose M. Polakowski, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2024, at the age of 92 in Independence Health System, Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, Pa. Born on December 16, 1931, in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., the daughter of the late Adam J. Stepanic, Sr. Connie Lovis Stepanic. Rose was a woman whose gentle nature and compassionate soul touched the lives of all who knew her. A proud graduate of East Huntingdon High School, Class of 1949, Rose channeled her precision and care into her work as a seamstress, dedicating 10 years of service to the former Amco and another 5 years of service to Union Apparel, both of Norvelt. Her meticulous craftsmanship was a testament to her patience and attention to detail, qualities that she carried into every aspect of her life. Rose's heart was always with her family. She is survived by her loving children, Rosanne Pandrok and her husband Tom of Charleroi, and Raymond F. Polakowski, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Westerville, OH. She was a cherished Grandmother to Matthew R. Polakowski and his wife Lisa of West Chester, OH, and Tessa Marie Crilley and her husband Steve of Westerville, OH. Her legacy continues through her adored Great-Grandchildren, Carina, Isabelle, Connor, and Joshua Crilley. Rose also leaves behind her siblings, Patricia A. Stafira and her husband Stanley of Fishersville, VA, and Timothy R. Stepanic of Scottdale, as well as her sister-in-laws, Judith Stepanic of Monroeville, OH, and Martha Stepanic of Valencia, Pa., along with a number of loving nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Raymond F. Polakowski, who passed away on May 13, 2010, her brothers, Adam John Stepanic, Jr. and George C. Stepanic, and her sister-in-law Joyce Stepanic. Spending quality time with her family was Rose's greatest joy. Holidays, birthdays, and ordinary days were made extraordinary by her presence. She had a special way of making each of her family members feel deeply valued and loved. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in particular, will carry forward the warmth and kindness she instilled in them. Rose's impact on the world was quiet yet profound. She was a friend to all, always ready with a kind word, a listening ear, and an open heart. Those who had the privilege of knowing Rose will remember her as the epitome of loving and gentle—qualities that she effortlessly exuded and that made her truly unforgettable.
