Richard E. Ferree

Richard E. Ferree, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024, at the age of 76 in Independence Health System at Latrobe, Pennsylvania. He was born on January 22, 1948, in York, Pennsylvania, to the late George and Ruth Kemper Ferree. Richard grew up in York and was a proud graduate of Dallastown High School before furthering his education at Westchester College. His career in the automotive industry spanned many years, where he was well-known and respected as a Car Salesman and Manager at Delaney Chevrolet of Greensburg and Kenny Ross in Irwin. Upon retiring from the car business, Richard continued to work as a Receiving Manager at County Market until its closure. He is survived by his loving children: Christina A. Ferree of Irwin, Scott M. Ferree and Jennifer Chipman of Bel Air, MD, Danielle R. Ferree and Timothy J. Ferree, both of Scottdale, and their mother, Maureen E. Ferree of Mt. Pleasant. His grandchildren, Adessa R. Noel, Lexi Levendosky, Leah Giagoncavo, Madi Levendosky, Haley Ferree, and Teagan Ferree, brought immense joy to his life. His love for his grandpuppy, the Beagle Mix, Kylo was unmatched. Richard's loving presence will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. Before his passing, Richard was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth Ferree, and his sister, Shirley Jackson. Richard's passion for life was evident in his love of sports. An avid sports enthusiast, he particularly enjoyed golf, baseball, and football, always eager to share his knowledge and excitement for the games. His garden was another source of pride and joy, where he spent countless hours nurturing plants and enjoying the simple pleasures of nature. He cherished spending time with his granddaughters, Lexi and Madi, while gardening. In honoring Richard’s wishes there will be no visitation or services.
