Dolores J. (Skero) Komenda

Dolores J. Skero Komenda, 93 of Scottdale, passed away peacefully, early Thursday morning, April 25, 2024 at Scottdale Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 10, 1930 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Mary Cheek Skero. Dolores was a longtime and faithful member of the Partner Parish of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson. Dolores was a member of the former Holy Rosary Society. She was a graduate of Hurst High School. Dolores is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, Her Children: Paul Komenda and wife Denise of McKees Rocks, Stanley Komenda and wife Nancy of Connellsville, Marion Komenda, Jr. and wife Sandy of Ruffsdale, Carolyn Szatkowski and husband Thomas of Scottdale, Her Grandchildren: Christopher Komenda and wife Nicki, Paul Komenda, Melissa Sparks and husband Jeremy, Daniel Komenda and wife Courtney, Jennifer Knapp and husband Jason, Tommy Szatkowski and girlfriend Cicely Verstein, Jason Szatkowski and girlfriend Taylor Etze. Her Great Grandchildren: Christopher, Morgan, Kayden, Abigail, Emma, Hadley and Eleanor Verstein. In addition to her Parents, Dolores was preceded in death by: Her Husband, Marion A. Komenda, Sr. (Feb. 2, 1994) Brother: Charles "Chucky" Skero, recipient of Purple Heart, POW/MIA, Korean War. Dolores’ family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683 on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 2 – 4PM & 6 – 8PM. Prayers of Transfer will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 10:30AM in the Funeral Home with her Funeral Mass to follow at 11AM in the Partner Parish of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson with the Very Rev. Paul A. Lisik,V.F. as Celebrant. Committal Services and Interment will take place in the St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Everson.
