Amanda McGeary Obituary

Amanda S. “Boo” McGeary, of Scottdale, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on March 13, 2024, at the age of 39. Born on February 10, 1985, in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, Amanda was a beacon of love and selflessness to all those who were fortunate enough to cross her path. Amanda was the beloved daughter of Gregory P. Marchewka and Toni Lynn Morgan, whom she considered a second mom, of Scottdale. Her Mother, Leslee F. Marchewka, and James Suter of Ruffsdale. Her life was a testament to the strong family bonds she fostered and cherished. As a mother, Amanda's world revolved around her children, Ella R. McGeary, Jacob McGeary, and Micah McGeary, all of Mt. Pleasant, who were her pride and joy. She shared a deep connection with her siblings, Lindsey M. Marchewka of Everson, Lauren Dillon and her husband Ben of Everson, Ryan L. Marchewka and Abigail Hostetler of Scottdale, and Tyler Morgan of Philadelphia, whom she held dear as another brother. The light of her life shone brightly on her nephews, Tanner, Theodore, Tristan Baker, Isaiah Perry, and Waylon Dillon, who adored their Aunt Amanda. Her Uncle, Terry W. Marchewka and his wife Barbara of Owensdale, and her Aunts, Debra Harrer and Gerald Crise of Alverton, and Diane Peterson and her husband Bradley of Indiana. She also leaves behind several cousins who will miss her dearly. Her Dog Bentley, a shih-poo who was such a great companion to her. Amanda was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Walter "Muff" and Louella M. Kern Marchewka, and her maternal grandparents, Larry and Diana Smith. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with them in eternal peace. An alumni of Southmoreland High School, Class of 2003, Amanda carried her commitment to serving others into her professional life. She furthered her education at CWCTC, earning her certification as a Medical Assistant. For 15 years, Amanda dedicated her career to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Amedysis Hospice Care. Her compassionate nature and unwavering courage made her a source of comfort and strength to countless individuals and their families during their most challenging times. Amanda attended Alverton Church of God, where her faith was nurtured and where she found great solace and community. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and a friend to all who knew her. Amanda's selfless spirit and courageous heart were the hallmarks of her character, leaving a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those she left behind. Amanda's journey through life was marked by the love she gave and the strength she showed in the face of adversity. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by the many lives she touched with her kindness and grace. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Amanda S. McGeary will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all the lives she touched with her extraordinary compassion. Amanda’s family cordially invites her Family and Friends, Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 2PM – 8PM in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683. Additional Visitation will be held Monday, March 18, 2024 from 9:30AM – 11AM at which time her Funeral Service will begin with Pastor Lee Kline, Officiating. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made, with gratitude, in care of Amanda’s children, Ella, Jacob and Micah, College Fund.
